Design Notes

Phs, a thermal promoter, described by Wayne E. Taylor in Cell Press, 1984, can provide quick response to temperature upshift. In the paper, the clone the promoter upstream from transcription starting site till -85 region; however, we only clone up till -45 regions, in which -45~-35 region is proven to be critical to the promoter function.
